Awesomr choice!! All of my favs, except mine -the last design of mine I preferred over the first- but I'm happy with your finalist.

Nice! I can't wait to see it rendered in 3D! s-bigsmile.gif

Just want to know what you guys thought of my design. Looking at it now I'm thinking that it might have been too bland and too closely related to the servbots and birdbots. Just want some constructive criticism and the thoughts of it.

Can't say I'm surprised with the winner- I knew I was in for some tough competition the moment I saw that design. I'm really glad you did a short critique of the finalists and explained everything, I'm glad to know what you thought of the design. Who knows, maybe I can rework it into a super-fighting-robot if you ever start a contest for one.

Overall this was a great learning experience, and a pretty fun thing to design.

Oh, neat. Thanks everybody. This is like the coolest thing that's ever happened to me haha.

@Zaiy Your final design as you mentioned was more of a meld of other ideas, and though it looked okay it did give the impression that it didn't have its own idea/theme of what it was trying to be. Color might have helped bring it to life too. Just food for thought. Glad you approve of the finalists!

@Dashe Neither can we, and fortunately in terms of the development priority this rates much higher than landmarks and balloon faces so we should be seeing this little guy before too long.

@Skybane As I just said to Dashe, won't be too long. And thanks for posting about this on GMOTM. It's good to see our decision getting such a positive response.

@Dragge I thought your design was pretty cool with the spikes and such. It did look like it'd be fast and powerful on offense and a pushover on defense, so if we had chosen it we probably would have modified it to be more balanced. Another consideration was the solid structure of the jaw and the eyes on the sides of its head, both of which would have made expressions difficult to convey.

@Smearg There really were a lot of great designs so it's a pity we couldn't comment on more of them but definitely all the finalist were worth covering. Glad you enjoyed the Event all around and hope to see more of your great designs in future Events.

@Eris Congratulations again, and thanks for designing us a winner!

It's funny, but I somehow knew this one was going to win (without having seen any other entries introduced past it, haha).
I may be a little late with my comment, but here are my thoughts on the winning entry.
What I instantly loved about it is that this little robot can be very expressive (unlike Birdbots). I imagine it being not very aggressive, having a soft spot for little things others don't even see, but when something's posing a threat, it transforms, ready to protect itself and those it cares about.
You definitely chose well. And everyone else did a great job too!

I'm so glad to see so many entries made it in, this is turning out to be a fantastic amalgamation of community-developers, on i hadn't seen in god knows how long.

Keep it up guys!
